Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method for analyzing the environmental impacts of a product, service, or process throughout its entire life cycle. This assessment examines the impacts of the product at all stages of its life cycle, from the sourcing of raw materials used in the product to the production process, distribution, use, and waste management.
LCA enables companies to understand the environmental impacts of their products and services, to make strategic decisions in the process of achieving sustainability goals, to gain competitive advantage in the market by increasing customer demands, to evaluate the use of materials and energy consumption in production, and thus to increase material and energy efficiency. In the process of reducing carbon footprint, LCA can be used to assess the environmental impacts of products and to create mitigation scenarios.
